Let’s Talk
Neighbors and community members volunteer to participate in District Council meetings. These meetings provide a space for community members to meet every month, discussing ways in which to make our community safer and keep it safe.
At these meetings, neighbors talk about what has worked before, work out new ideas that could improve safety, and identify more neighbors, community groups, and local businesses who can get involved. This is the community-building part of the Neighborhood Policing Initiative, the part where neighbors get to know and watch out for one another.
Problem Solving
Community Ambassadors and other neighbors meet with CPD District Coordination Officers — their community’s patrol officers — and district leadership to share safety concerns and come up with solutions. And not just devise solutions, but carry them out so the solutions can be revised or replicated to continue to improve the safety of the community.
